Carndonagh 1-09 Naomh Columba (Glen Columcille) 0-11
All County Division Two U16 Semifinal -

Carn played arguably the toughest game of their season so far against Naomh Columba (Glen Columcille) on Thursday night (15th May) in McCumhaill Park. Carn fielding without county panelist, Jerry Simpson, and centre-forward, Joe McLaughlin, were definitely up against it from the start. They played a Naomh Columba team who were clearly motivated and from the start tried to dictate the play with strong running from midfield. Carn were slow to start and slowly got back into the game and at halftime, Carn trailed by 1-03 to 0-07, Carn's goal coming from a penalty taken by Dermot Simpson for a foul on Christopher McLaughlin. Though Carn had to be thankful to keeper Dermot Doherty(B) for making one fantastic save to keep Carn in contention.

Glen Columcille started the second half at a furious pace as they tried to put some distance between themselves and Carn and extended their lead to 3 points at one stage, but Carn fought back with 4 unanswered points in the last 10 minutes to take the lead and managed to stay ahead until the final whistle. Another excellent team performance by Carn, based solely on the fact that no player in green and red gave up and continued to fight for the win and in the end deserved their victory and a place in the County Final against Downings. Final Score: Carn 1-09 Naomh Columba 0-11.
