Carndonagh forwards badly need practice in taking scores. In a near perfect day for football and with countless opportunities for scoring the team only managed to score seven points. Some very doubtful refereeing decisions did not help either. The early retirement of Michael Mooney from a very unsporting tackle, which went unpunished by the referee, was also a contributary factor. Michael was playing particularily well when he had to retire. Carn would have gone joint top if they had managed to win this game.
