Carndonagh 2-11 Glenswilly 1-10
This was a hard fought exciting game which John Ward wrapped up at the end with a very well executed goal. Glenswilly came to Carndonagh at the top of the Division 3 table having beaten Buncrana the previous Sunday. There was great tenacity and teamwork about this Carndonagh team. Each defender man marked his man with great enthusiasm. Des Newton had his best game in a Carn shirt for a long time with Joe Lafferty and Paddy Mooney ably supporting him in the corners. The half back line dominated in the first half with Shane Kelly playing particularly well. The midfield pair of Kevin Doherty(T) and Gerard Doherty(K) are certainly gelling well together.

The up and coming young football and hurling star from Carrick, Carn, Conor Mc Laughlin was asked to pick the man of the match. His decision was Niall McLaughlin who scored three fine points. Conor said that Niall always seemed to be running into space and tackling well. Other forwards who played well were Donnacha Gallagher, Darragh Doherty and Gary McLaughlin who scored a magical goal after the best move of the match. The final pass from Barry Browne was a text book pass.

However some players and managers must learn that the referee's decisions are final and accept them. Giving out to a referee does not achieve anything.

Division 3 Reserve

Carndonagh 2-18 Glenswilly 0-04
This game was never a contest for this free moving impressive Carndonagh team. Manager J.J. Doherty certainly wielded the axe on the team which as reported last week did not deliver in Downings in the championship. His managerial ability certainly came to the fore with the forward line showing five different faces to the previous Sunday. As J.J. himself was injured Shane Donaghey replaced him at centre back. Shane had a fantastic game starting many attacks from his centre back position. Patrick Nelson, Paul Lafferty and Aidan O'Callaghan were very supportive. All the forwards scored but Darren Burke scoring 2-4 was the star. He could do nothing wrong. Diarmuid Foley (0-3) has certainly a bright future ahead of him but needs a bit of practice with his left foot shooting. Keith Doherty, Niall McGuinness and John Ward scored some brilliant points.
