 McCumhaills 1-06 Carndonagh 2-09
A very good performance by Carn in a very tight and competitive game. Carn players fought all over the pitch to gain and retain possession, with some great blocking and tackling. The forwards in the first half were a bit wasteful but they also forced the McCumhaills keeper to make some fine saves. At halftime McCumhaills led by 0-05 to 0-04. The home team made a great start to the second half, stertching thir lead to 3 points but Carn fought back with fine points from Christy McLaughlin and Garvan McGrenra, plus goals from Jamie Tweed and Tiarnan Coyne. The McCumhaills keeper was also forced to make 2 fine saves from Dermot Doherty(B). Carn them survived a late goal and pressure from McCumhaills to run out deserving winners. It is fair to say that some Carn players had their best game of the season so far in this match. Best for Carn were Cathal O'Kane, Tiarnan Coyne, Christopher McLaughlin, and Conor Shiels, but everyone played well.
