Ballintra 2-07 Carndonagh 2-09

A solid if not spectacular performance from Carndonagh away to Ballintra. A very wet, soggy pitch meant that the game was always going to be won by the team who fought hardest. A slow start saw Naomh Brid go 1-02 up in the first 10 minutes but Carn fought back to draw level at halftime 1-03 to 0-06. Naomh Brid opened brighter in the second half with 2 quick points but Carn took a 1-point lead with a goal scored after much confusion in the Naomh Brid penalty area. This goal was cancelled out almost immediately when Naomh Brid got their second goal. This gave them a 2-point advantage that was soon stretched to 4-points. Naomh Brid leading 2-07 to 1-06. Theses were Ballintra's last scores of the game but they still caused a few scares in and around the Carn goalmouth. After one such scare Carn began to exert more pressure and where rewarded with a goal and 3-points as they finished the stronger in the very heavy conditions.
