Carndonagh 0-06 Convoy 1-10

This game was played in quite slippery conditions in Buncrana. Carndonagh openend the brighter against a very physical Convoy team and should have been 2-01 ahead before Convoy registered their first point. The remainder of the first half was nip and tuck but Convoy were the more clinical in front of goal, taking what few chances came their way but Carn rallied as halftime approached, to leave the halftime score 0-02 to 0-03 in favour of Convoy. Some words of encouragement at halftime spurred Carn to life at the start of the second half as they attacked Convoy with renewed vigour. Some wasteful shooting put paid to the Carndonagh advantage but the turning point of the second half was the decision of the referee to disallow a very genuine goal for Carn due to the protestations of one Convoy supporter behind the goal. This incident provided the impetus for Convoy to gain a foothold in the game and they were aided by some lamentable refereeing in the second half as Carn could sense a real injustice. Convoy took advantage and ran out deserving winners but with more than just a little help. Best for Carn were Declan O'Donnell, Dominic Doherty, Mark Canny, Ryan Davenport and Micheal Nelson.
