County "A" Championship Under 12

Carndonagh 2-08 Aodh Ruadh 5-02

Carn could have won this game easily but in this game as in previous games, conceding soft goals and some poor shooting was our downfall. The slippery conditions made it difficult for good handling and passing but some Carn players had their best games of the season, beating their man every time. Carn outplayed Aodh Ruadh for long spells and in fact didn't let Aodh Ruadh score for the first 20 minutes of the second half. Carn had a sluggish start but soon began to dominate but bad misses mean't that this domination wasn't turned into scores and Aodh Ruadh then scored 4 goals in quick succession all coming from Carn mistakes. At halftime Carn trailed by 6 points 4-01 to 1-04. Again in the second half Carn dominated but at times went for goal when an easy point was their for the taking. Carn got back to 1 point behind but just couldn't get that equalising score. Best for Carn were Michael McCallion, Patrick Logue, Sean Doherty, Jamie Tweed, Richard Cunningham, Liam Shiels and Robert McCartney.
This is a very skillful young team which has many years of success ahead of them as long as they keep training and practice.

This is the end of competitive games for this year but friendlies will be arranged for the rest of the summer.
